I’m not really into owning movies any more. I bought a couple hundred or so DVDs but you know they just sit there on my shelves.  However I am quite tempted to buy the HD-DVD player add on to the XBox 360 now that it comes with 7(!!!) free movies. And not crappy ones like the original offer.  Goodfellas, Batman Begins, Superman 2 (yes the best one), Shaun of the Dead, Happy Gilmore to name a few.  I’d say a good 75% of the movies in the offer are worth owning.   It looks as though Netflix rents hd-dvd movies but not sure how well that service is just yet…..

Alas, I think I will wait until the format war is over (and streamed media wins. Physical discs are so 2000s bleh)

There is an expedition starting to explore the site where the pirate Blackbeard’s ship the ‘Queen Anne’s Revene’ was allegedely sunk.  I just think thats too cool.  Maybe they will find some hidden treasure like in the Goonies.  Pirates are awesome. Real pirates, not Jack Sparrow.  Those guys were lunatics back then. Awesome.  I will definitely be following this story.
