Struggling In School
Life is all about relationships. Starting, developing and maintaining them. I was speaking recently with someone about how my performance at Dartmouth has had absolutely nothing to do with my performance after graduation. Grades are just numbers for the large majority of people who don’t plan to become doctors or lawyers. So if you’re killing yourself to get good grades, think about what impact its really going to have on the next phase of your life. The reality is that its probably next to zero as I can’t even recall being asked my GPA by anyone, ever. Instead focus on things that are going to get you ahead. Meeting great people. Getting involved in activities. Building character. And most importantly figuring out what you want to do with your life. These are the skills you need to develop to be a success of out the bubble that is academia. Its really just smoke and mirrors.
Heres a nice article going into a bit more detail on the topic.
